STOCK IN NEWS: On Tuesday morning, the majority of the Adani Group companies' shares were trading in the red, declining for the fourth day in a row, on worries raised by a report from US-based short seller Hindenburg Research.
On January 24, Hindenburg published the research, the same day that investors could purchase shares in Adani Enterprises' Rs 20,000 crore follow-on share offering.
Stocks of the Gautam Adani-led company were hit hard on the exchanges when Hindenburg presented a long list of accusations against it, including share price manipulation and illegal transactions. The allegations have been rejected by the group.
For the fourth day in a row, shares of Adani Total Gas, Adani Green Energy, Adani Transmission, Adani Wilmar, Adani Power, NDTV, and Adani Ports all experienced steep declines on the BSE. Adani Total Gas shares fell 10 %, Adani Green Energy 9.60 %, Adani Transmission 8.62 %, Adani Wilmar 5 %, Adani Power 4.98 %, NDTV 4.98 %, and Adani Ports 1.45 %.
However, Ambuja Cements increased 5.25 %, ACC increased 2.91 %, and Adani Enterprises increased 5.26 %.
On Monday as well, shares of the majority of Adani Group companies closed lower.
After Hindenburg made unfavourable accusations on Friday, the shares of Adani Group dropped up to 20 %.
