South superstar Vijay Sethupathi's 'Kadaisi Vivasayi' co-star Kasammal is no longer with us. According to reports, her son, identified as P. Namakodi, viciously attacked her, resulting in her tragic demise. It is alleged that Namakodi had a habit of consuming alcohol and would frequently demand money from his mother to fuel his addiction. When Kasammal refused to comply, he resorted to violence, ultimately taking her life.

Authorities have apprehended Namakodi in connection with the incident, and the weapon used in the crime has been seized as evidence. The tragic incident unfolded in Anaiyur near Usilampatti, Madurai. On the morning of February 4th, around 3 am, Kasammal had a heated argument with her son, leading to a physical altercation where she sustained fatal injuries, succumbing shortly after.

Namakodi had been separated from his wife for approximately 15 years. Following the incident, law enforcement swiftly responded, transporting Kasammal's body to the hospital for post-mortem examination.

Kasammal was a prominent actress in the Tamil industry, best known for her role in the film 'Kadaisi Vivasayi' released in 2022, directed by M. Manikandan. Alongside her, Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu portrayed lead roles. Beyond her professional life, Kasammal leaves behind four sons, and Namakodi is approximately 52 years old.
