Dwayne Johnson Is Reportedly Getting a Record-Breaking Payment for His Next Movie

Dwayne Johnson may be having a rough time with his most recent movie and TV releases, but hes still one of Hollywoods most successful actors, and hes about to confirm that title. After Black Adam became one of the recent setbacks in the DCU, and the series about his life, Young Rock, was canceled, The Rock is ready for a new hit.

As he prepares for his official return to the Fast Furious franchise not only in the next film in the main saga, but also in a new solo movie for his character Luke Hobbs, Johnson wants to dominate the screen this Christmas with Red One.

The upcoming Amazon Studios Original movie in which he stars alongside Chris Evans and J.K. Simmons arrives in December, and could set a new record for the former wrestlers career.

According to the newsletter of Puck journalist Matthew Belloni via The Direct, The Rock has earned a total of 50 million a day from filming Red One, making it the highest salary earned by an actor on a daily basis for a single role.

Johnson will soon return to play another of his iconic characters in the live-action adaptation of Moana, which was announced earlier this year as part of the long line of reimaginings of Disney classics, despite the fact that it has only been seven years since the original premiere of the film.

The Rock is also set to return along with Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot to the Netflix screen in the Red Notice sequel, which is almost ready to start filming according to the former Wonder Woman star.

Dwayne Johnson reunites with the director of Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji The Next Level for this Christmas adventure that seeks to become a classic of the most wonderful time of the year along with titles like Home Alone, The Grinch or Jingle All the Way.

At the moment, no relevant details about the plot of the film have been shared, although it is described as a buddy action comedy that seeks to reinvent the Christmas genre. Another important detail is that Simmons will play Santa Claus himself in the film.

The Red One cast is rounded out by Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Claus, Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Nick Kroll, and Kristofer Hivju. Johnson and Evans, meanwhile, will play Callum Drift and Jack OMalley. The movie will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
