Yogi Adityanath Praises BJP's Victory in U.P By-Elections, Sticks to PM Modi’s Message for Maharashtra

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath celebrated the BJP-led NDA’s strong performance in the  Uttar Pradesh by-elections, securing leads in 7 out of 9 seats. While he continued to use his signature election slogan “batenge to katenge” in Uttar Pradesh, he avoided using it in the context of Maharashtra, instead aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s message of "ek hai, toh safe hai" (unity is safety).

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), CM Yogi expressed gratitude to voters, calling the victory a reflection of the people’s trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He wrote, "The victory of the BJP-NDA in the Uttar Pradesh by-elections proves the people's faith in the successful leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Modi. I thank the voters for supporting good governance and development in Uttar Pradesh, and congratulations to all the winning candidates!"

The BJP emerged victorious in the Ghaziabad and Khair seats, while also leading in Kundarki, Phulpur, Majhawan, and Katehari. Its ally, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), is leading in Meerapur. Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party claimed victory in Sismau and is leading in Karhal.

In his tweet, Yogi further emphasized the success of the "double engine" government, citing good governance and public welfare as key reasons for the victory. He reiterated his gratitude to the voters for supporting the development of Uttar Pradesh.

Notably, the UP CM had raised eyebrows earlier for using the “batenge to katenge” slogan during campaigns in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, which faced criticism from opposition parties accusing him of stoking religious division. However, Yogi remained focused on his message of governance and public welfare in his latest statements.
