Lucknow: A woman police inspector in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, who had previously lodged a complaint against a youth, was allegedly kidnapped and pressured to withdraw her case, according to police reports. The inspector, who had been harassed by the accused, Anshuman Pandey, for six months, managed to escape from her abductors and file a new complaint against him. The inspector revealed that Pandey, a resident of Prayagraj, had been persistently pressuring her to drop the case she had registered against him. When her refusal to comply continued, Pandey allegedly orchestrated her abduction. According to the complaint filed at the Babu Banarasi Das (BBD) Police Station, the inspector was abducted from her residence and threatened with death if she did not withdraw the complaint. She was later abandoned at a deserted area near the Bithauli intersection but managed to escape and report the incident to the BBD Police Station. Following her report, a case has been registered against Pandey. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage and conducting further investigations to take appropriate action.
