Dehradun: A big incident is coming out of Uttarakhand; here, a new war has started on teaching children in class 2 that father and mother are the same. Here, the father of a student has complained to the Collector of Dehradun, objecting to the use of the words 'Abbu' and 'Ammi' for parents in the English textbook for children. Manish Mittal, the student's father, said that after reading these words in his English textbook, his son has started calling him 'Abbu' and his mother 'Ammi'. He asked his child why he was doing this. So they came to know that there is a poem in the child's English book, 'Too big, too small'. In the poem, Shanu addresses her mother as Ammi and her father as Abbu. At the end, the meaning of words like Abbu, Ammi, Dada, and Daadi have also been given. Manish Mittal has lodged a complaint with the collector regarding this. He said, 'The use of such words in an English book is mischievous. The father has termed the use of these words as an 'assault on religious faith'. He has demanded from Collector Sonika that instead of these words, the words father and mother in English should be used. According to a report received, Collector Sonika said, 'I have received a complaint from the father of a student in this regard some time ago. I have sent the matter to the Chief Education Officer. The Collector has instructed the Chief Education Officer to submit the inquiry report within a week.
