Visakhapatnam (Vizag): The Railway Board announced on Friday that Visakhapatnam railway station will be the first to implement the "One Station, One Product" concept. In the recent budget, the central government announced "One Station, One Product." The Vizag station would be the first to execute the concept on the East Coast Railway. For a period of 15 days, it would be used as a test. Because the Vizag station is so close to the famed Etikoppaka lacquer ware toy manufacturing village, Etikoppaka toys and handicraft products will be displayed and sold there. "The railway station will serve as a marketing outlet, with a stall dedicated to selling local products unique to the area." As a result, the Railway Board has recommended designating one station on each zone railway for the concept's implementation, first as a 15-day pilot experiment. According to Waltair Divisional Manager Anup Kumar Sethupathi, Visakhapatnam railway station of East Coast Railway has been designated as the first station in the zone to adopt the "One station, One Product" initiative. The Divisional Commercial Manager stated that temporary stalls would be placed at the station for the purpose of selling and displaying handicrafts, and that interested people should contact the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager for more information.
