Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra on Friday to attend a special event in Wardha, marking the first anniversary of the 'PM Vishwakarma' scheme. He will also lay the foundation stone for a new textile park in Amravati. The 'PM Vishwakarma' programme will take place in Wardha at around 11:30 am, during which PM Modi will present certificates and loans to beneficiaries of the scheme, according to an official release. The 'PM Vishwakarma' scheme, launched on September 17 last year, aims to provide comprehensive support to artisans and craftspeople who rely on manual labor and traditional tools. As part of the event, PM Modi will distribute credit to 18 beneficiaries across 18 different trades. In honor of their contributions, a commemorative stamp will be released to mark the one-year milestone of the scheme’s progress. In addition to this, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the 'PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park' in Amravati. This 1,000-acre park is being developed by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and is one of seven textile parks approved by the central government under the PM MITRA initiative. These parks are designed to turn India into a global leader in textile manufacturing and exports by offering state-of-the-art infrastructure that encourages large-scale investments, including foreign direct investment (FDI). The park will also support innovation and job creation in the sector. During his visit, PM Modi will also launch the 'Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centre' scheme, initiated by the Maharashtra government. This program will set up skill development training centers in well-known colleges across the state to train individuals aged 15 to 45, helping them become self-sufficient and gain employment opportunities. Approximately 1,50,000 youths in Maharashtra will receive free skill development training each year under this initiative. Additionally, the Prime Minister will launch the 'Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme,' which will provide early-stage support to women-led startups in Maharashtra. Financial assistance of up to Rs 25 lakh will be available, with 25% of the funds reserved for women from backward classes and economically weaker sections. The scheme aims to empower women entrepreneurs and support their journey toward self-reliance.
