Muzaffarnagar: Police have arrested a couple in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh on charges of sexual abuse of adopted children and human trafficking. Police informed in this regard on Monday. In September this year, a 17-year-old girl was found unconscious near a canal. An NGO treated her and sent her to his foster parents on September 25. Later, on receiving the complaint, NGO questioned the foster parent and rescued the teenager. The medical test found that the girl had been sexually abused. Police at Bhopa police station registered a case under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the 'Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO)' against the parents who served the girl on October 6. Police said the accused were arrested on Sunday evening. According to police, the victim's real father has died and her mother has remarried and gone elsewhere.
