Lucknow: After an encounter in Noida Filmcity, Uttar Pradesh, the Sector 20 police on Friday (October 7) arrested a criminal wanted in several cases. The accused has been identified as Danish (27) alias Cheeta, a resident of Mayur Vihar in Delhi. He was the shooter of the Chenu gang. Noida Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashutosh Dwivedi has said that danish has more than 20 cases registered against him for robbery in various police stations of Delhi-NCR. Danish was nabbed by the police during checking near Brahmaputra Market here on Friday morning, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashutosh Dwivedi said. However, he fled from the spot, following which nearby police posts were alerted about the incident. He was chased by teams from Brahmaputra Market police post, Atta and Sector 18 outposts. Meanwhile, Danish opened fire on police teams to escape near Film City in Sector 16A, but he was injured in retaliation. Police have informed that four mobile phones, an Apache bike (stolen from police station Phase-1 area), a pistol 315 bore, a khokha and two cartridges have been recovered from the possession of the accused. After being shot in the leg, he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police have launched a search operation to trace his associate, who was with him this morning but he escaped, the official said. He will also be caught soon.
