Lucknow: After a case was registered against Ajit Prasad, son of Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Awadhesh Prasad, for allegedly kidnapping a man, Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar criticized the Samajwadi Party. He raised concerns about the frequency of SP leaders' names appearing in various criminal cases, stating, "Why are the names of Samajwadi Party leaders coming up in every case? Whether it is the Ayodhya rape case, the Kannauj rape case, or the Mau rape case, everything is being done by Samajwadi Party leaders. It is unfortunate that these people are the enemies of the nation and society. Such people should be immediately arrested and put in jail." In response to the allegations, Awadhesh Prasad dismissed the accusations against his son as "baseless" and "false." He expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would not succeed in winning the upcoming bye-elections from the Milkipur seat, attributing the FIR against his son to political motivations. "Elections will be held for the Milkipur by-elections, and SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav has given a ticket to my son to contest the elections. BJP knows they will not be able to win the elections from the Milkipur seat, which is why they have registered a baseless case against my son. There is no truth in the case," he stated. On September 22, an FIR was registered against Ajit Prasad and others at the Kotwali Nagar police station in Ayodhya. The allegations include kidnapping a man to whom he had reportedly given ₹1 lakh and threatening him to return the money, a sum that was part of a land deal commission. Relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) have been invoked in this case.
