The University Grant Commission has issued a revised academic guideline regarding the commencement of the new academic year and examination dates for the first-year students of UG and PG. The revised guidelines have been issued by the UGC after the request of the expert committee. As per the revised academic guidelines issued, the new academic year will now be started from 01 November 2020 for the first-year students of UG and PG. This means that the classes of these first-year students will start from 01 November 2020. The UGC has told all the universities in this case that the process of admission of first-year students of UG and PG should be completed by 31 October 2020 in every situation. According to the Revised Academic Calendar issued by the UGC, the first year examinations will be conducted between 08 March 2021 to 26 March 2021. Since the UGC has released the revised academic calendar, students and colleges in Mumbai have been confused about setting new dates. According to the previous guidelines issued by the UGC, the new academic year was to start in September. Mumbai University is doing its work according to this guideline.
