Panaji: Day after day, there are cases of crime from Goa. The case that has come to light recently is from the North-East. A 25-year-old girl has been raped here. She was reportedly raped for three days after she was locked in a flat room here. The accused in the case have now been arrested from Quepem in South Goa. Police have informed about the case last Thursday. Police said the accused have been identified as Shambhunath Singh, 32, a resident of Delhi, 63-year-old Sudhakar Naik from South Goa. Both have been remanded to five days of police custody by a local court. According to the information received, the woman from the North Eastern State was summoned to Goa by Shambhunath Singh under the pretext of a job. After coming to the coastal state on July 26, the duo allegedly raped her under the influence of alcohol. Regarding the case, police said, "Last Thursday, the girl fled from the flat and called the police control room, after which a case was registered under Section 376 (Rape) 343 (wrongful imprisonment) of the Indian Penal Code.'' The incident came to light when Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has faced criticism for his remarks last Wednesday. In fact, on the night of July 24, two minor girls were raped on the South Goa beach and their parents were blamed by CM Pramod Sawant. In fact, Pramod Sawant had said, 'Parents should introspect.
