Donald Trump took to Truth Social to respond to Kamala Harris's speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where she made a strong case against him returning to the White House. Trump, reacting to Harris's criticisms, asked if she was referring to him in her speech. Harris warned of the serious consequences of Trump’s potential return to power, highlighting the "chaos and calamity" of his previous administration and pointing out the ongoing legal challenges he faces. She emphasized her commitment to democracy over tyranny. Trump, however, criticized Harris's speech, questioning her effectiveness as Vice President. He posted, “A lot of talk about childhood, we’ve got to get to the Border, Inflation, and Crime!” He accused Harris of being incompetent and failing to deliver on policy promises during her tenure. In his follow-up posts, Trump attacked Harris’s record on illegal immigration, claiming that as the "Border Czar," she allowed a significant number of people into the country, including criminals. He described her as a “radical Marxist” and criticized her stance on illegal immigration, suggesting she supports granting citizenship to undocumented immigrants. Trump also questioned why Harris hadn’t addressed the issues she spoke about, saying, “She could have done it three and a half years ago. She could do it tonight by leaving the auditorium and going to Washington, D.C. and closing the border.” He asserted that he managed to secure the border without the need for new legislation. Harris and Trump are scheduled to debate on September 10 in Philadelphia.
