3 arrested for trying to kill Tripura CM Biplab Deb!

Agartala: Three people have been arrested for trying to murder Tripura CM Biplab Deb. Police have informed in this regard on Saturday. Police said CM Biplab Deb had set out on an evening walk near his official residence Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Lane on Thursday evening when three occupants of the car entered his security cordon.

As the car passed Deb, he quickly moved aside and one of his security personnel sustained minor injuries in the incident. CM Deb's security squad tried to stop the car but the resolution did not work. Police said three persons were later arrested from Kerchaumuhani and the vehicle was seized. The accused were produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate PP Paul on Friday from where they were sent to jail on 14 days remand. Assistant Public Prosecutor Vidyut Sutradhar said the three accused are over 20 years of age and their motives are yet to be ascertained.

According to the information received that 'We had demanded that the accused be remanded to two days police remand for questioning, but the court remanded them to judicial custody till August 19. Now the police will interrogate them and try to ascertain their intentions.'
