Agartala: The Tripura government has extended the covid curfew in Agartala and eight other Urban Local Bodies (ULB) from 2 pm to 5 am till July 9. This information has been given while issuing a notification. However, the night curfew has been lifted from 6 pm to 5 am from villages. State that the covid curfew was first imposed in the ULB on 16th May and then extended again and again. It was scheduled to end on July 2. The notification issued by Chief Secretary Kumar Alok said that the covid curfew in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and eight other ULBs will continue till July 9. In addition to Agartala, restrictions have also been imposed in municipal councils of Ranibazar, Udaipur, Kailashhar, Dharnagar, Khowai, Beloonia, and Nagar Panchayats of Jirani and Panisagar. Shopping malls and market complexes will still remain closed and market committees will deploy volunteers to ensure strict adherence to social distancing. Vehicles can ply only between 5 am and 2 pm for essential purposes. However, vehicles supplying medical supplies will be allowed to ply even after 2 pm. It said, there will be a complete ban on movement of persons between 2 pm and 5 am except the prescribed exemption.
