Dehradun: On a fateful day in Duwakoti village, located in the Gaja sub-district of Tehri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand, a horrifying accident unfolded as a car lost control and plummeted into a gorge. The incident resulted in the tragic loss of two lives, while eight other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries. The vehicle, carrying a total of ten individuals, found itself in a precarious situation that led to this devastating outcome. Upon receiving news of the accident, swift response teams, including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police, rushed to the scene. Their immediate priority was to provide assistance and aid in the rescue efforts. In a show of solidarity, local residents joined forces with the authorities, pooling resources and manpower to retrieve the bodies of the deceased from the steep gorge. Amidst the chaos and urgency, the injured individuals received prompt attention, and efforts were made to transport them to the nearest medical facility for urgent treatment. District Disaster Officer Brijesh Bhatt confirmed that the eight injured individuals were swiftly taken to Gaja hospital for medical attention, underscoring the collaborative efforts undertaken to address the aftermath of this tragic accident.
