Tractor and van collide in Ratangarh, Neemuch, four people injured

In a shocking incident on Monday night in the Neemuch district, a severe collision occurred between a tractor-trolley and a van at the Ratnagiri bus stand. The van was left completely shattered, resulting in injuries to four individuals. Immediate medical attention was provided, and the injured were swiftly transported to the Ratnagiri health center, followed by a referral to Neemuch for further treatment.

Chronology of the Incident

The incident unfolded as a heavily loaded tractor-trolley with registration number MP 11 EA 2595 was descending from the Ratanagiri Ghat. Simultaneously, a van with registration number RJ 06 UB 5458, belonging to Neemuch, was ascending the ghat. During this maneuver, the balance of the descending tractor-trolley was disrupted, causing it to collide with the van, leading to the overturning of the trolley.

As a consequence of the overturn, the maize loaded in the trolley spilled, creating a temporary traffic jam. The Ratanagiri police, led by Thana in-charge B.S. Gaur and his team, along with municipal employees, managed to clear the road by diverting traffic to the maize-strewn side after necessary coordination.

Severity of the Accident

The collision was so severe that the van's roof was ripped off. Among the injured were Deva, son of Kanhaiyalal, Raju, son of Bagu, Udaylal's husband Umari, and Varju. After the incident, they were promptly taken to the Ratanagiri health center, where preliminary treatment was administered. However, due to the critical condition of two of the injured, they were later referred to Neemuch for specialized medical attention.

Healthcare professionals have expressed concern about the delicate condition of the two patients, emphasizing the need for careful monitoring and extensive medical intervention.

Response and Cleanup Efforts

After the accident, authorities, including the Ratanagiri police and municipal staff, arrived promptly at the scene. They coordinated with healthcare professionals to ensure the injured received immediate attention. The maize spill on the road was a further challenge, necessitating the assistance of municipal workers to clear the area and resume traffic flow.

Conclusion

This unfortunate incident highlights the vulnerability of road users and the need for constant vigilance to prevent such accidents. As investigations continue, authorities are urged to assess the safety measures in place on the Ratanagiri Ghat and take necessary actions to enhance road safety. In conclusion, our thoughts are with the injured individuals, and we hope for their speedy recovery. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the collective responsibility we share in ensuring the well-being of all road users.
