Dehradun: A Congress MLA from Uttarakhand has threatened to commit suicide, leveling surprising allegations against the administration. He has said that if he does not get justice, he will resign from his post and immolate himself in front of the Assembly. Congress MLA from Jaspur in Uttarakhand, Adesh Chauhan, has complained. Raising the issue in the Assembly on Tuesday, Adesh Chauhan said, "In July, I went to the SDM office with a delegation of farmers to complain about moneylenders. From there, I was assured of action.''
Adesh Chauhan further said, "No action was taken against the culprits after making the complaint. On the contrary, at 2 pm, the police took back my gunner. Then, the next day, three people came to my house and misbehaved with me. I lodged a complaint against these three persons at the police station.'' The Congress MLA accused the Senior Superintendent of Police of Udham Singh Nagar of having personal enmity and breach of privilege of the MLA. The MLA said he protested at the police station. There was an assurance from there, but the report was not registered.

At the same time, Dr. Shailendra Mohan Singhal, who came from Congress to BJP, had to face a crushing defeat. Jaspur MLA Adesh Chauhan was in the BJP till the 2017 elections. Thereafter, as soon as former Jaspur MLA Dr. Shailendra Mohan Singhal left the Congress and joined the BJP, similarly, BJP's Adesh Chauhan joined the Congress and the Congress party declared Adesh Chauhan as its candidate from the Jaspur assembly constituency in 2017.
