Thane: A case of theft of Rs 21 lakh cash from a doctor's cabin has come to light in Thane district of Maharashtra. This theft was done by two former employees of the hospital and their accomplice. Police have arrested all three accused and recovered Rs 18 lakh cash from them. The incident took place on September 21, when the doctor discovered theft in his cabin at the hospital located in Vinay Nagar, Kashigaon. Senior Inspector Rahul Kumar Patil of Kashigaon Police Station said that after examining the CCTV footage, it was found that a masked man entered the cabin and stole the money. During the investigation, it was revealed that an acquaintance may be involved in the theft. On September 24, the police arrested a 32-year-old former employee of the hospital from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh. During interrogation, it was found that the doctor's former driver, who committed the theft wearing a mask, was involved in this crime. Later this driver and another person from Uttar Pradesh were also arrested. The driver is a resident of Katihar district in Bihar, and is 28 years old. The police recovered stolen cash worth Rs 18 lakh from the accused, along with an auto-rickshaw, mask and other items used in the crime. A case has been registered against the three accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
