Chennai (Tamil Nadu): The long-awaited moment arrived for Class 12 students in Tamil Nadu as the results were announced on Monday. Sethurama Varma, Director of Government Examinations, revealed that an impressive 94.56% of students have passed this year's exams. In a conversation with ANI, Sethurama Varma shared, "A total of 7,19,606 students appeared for the Class 12 exams in Tamil Nadu during the academic year 2023-2024. Among them, 7,19,196 students successfully cleared the exams, marking a passing rate of 94.56%." Comparing with the previous academic year, Varma mentioned that the passing percentage for Class 12 was 94.03%, indicating a slight improvement this year. Notably, 2478 schools achieved a perfect 100% pass rate. Government schools recorded a passing rate of 91.02%, while government-aided schools saw a slightly higher passing rate of 95.49%. Private schools maintained an impressive passing percentage of 98.70%. Highlighting inclusivity, Varma stated, "This year, 125 juvenile students appeared for the Class 12 exams, with 115 passing, achieving a pass percentage of 92%. Additionally, 5603 physically challenged students took the exams, with 5161 passing, resulting in a pass percentage of 92.11%." Thirupur district emerged with the highest pass percentage in the state, adding another feather to its cap. Looking ahead, the official announced that the dates for revaluation and re-exams will be disclosed tomorrow, providing students with further opportunities to excel.
