BJP got permission for rally
Kolkata Police had earlier refused to allow BJP to hold a rally against the RG Kar scandal. But the Calcutta High Court has allowed BJP to hold a rally from Moulali to Y Channel. Former MP Swapan Dasgupta had filed a petition in the High Court seeking permission for the rally. Justice Rajarshi Bhardwaj granted permission for the rally after hearing his petition.
Mamata Banerjee's rally and High Court's instructions
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had taken out a rally on this route. The High Court has accepted the BJP's petition and allowed the rally from Moulali to Y Channel. The court said that 500 chairs should be arranged during the rally, the size of the stage should be 600 square feet, and the event should be held between 3 pm and 7 pm.
Instructions for organizing the rally peacefully
The High Court has also directed that the rally should be peaceful and any controversial or provocative statement should be avoided. The BJP has started preparations for the rally after the court's decision. According to the information, other leaders including opposition leader Shubhendu Adhikari will also participate in this rally.
