Nagaur: Nagaur district of Rajasthan is one of the areas in the state where ground water levels have gone down considerably. Where water scarcity is a huge problem. When the Indira Gandhi Canal Project came to the district last year, people got some relief, but the canal water has reached most of the urban areas so far. Work is on a war footing to ensure that canal water reaches rural areas. In Dedwana, only urban water is being supplied in urban areas. However, the L&T company, which is working on putting pipelines, pump houses and tanking in the canal project, is trying to reach the canal water house in the rural areas of Dewana ahead of schedule. During construction work, special attention is also being taken on the quality of the material being used in the work. DeDwana MLA Chetan Dodi inspected the canal project running from Pump House in Dedwana to the canal project in the lines and villages on Sunday and gave necessary directions to the company officials. MLA Dodi has instructed the top executives of the company to work on schedule to provide relief by supplying drinking water to the area which is suffering from shortage of drinking water.
