Jaipur: No one can forget the dark night of December 16, 2012, when six criminals gang-raped a girl in a moving bus in Delhi. The Nirbhaya incident of Delhi still hurts the heart when we remember it. A similar incident has come to light in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Last Thursday, a minibus driver kidnapped a woman in broad daylight. The woman's mother-in-law was present with her at the time of the incident. She appealed to people for help, but no one came forward. On the other hand, when the victim's husband reached the police station to file a report of kidnapping, the police scolded him and sent him away. Late at night, the woman was found lying on the roadside in an unconscious state. As soon as the workers of a political party reached the police station after getting information about this incident, the police registered a case in this matter. Based on the complaint of the victim's family, the police immediately arrested the accused bus driver. Everyone is stunned to hear the ordeal narrated by the victim. No one can easily believe how someone can be so cruel that, after raping a woman, they throw her down from a moving bus with the intention of killing her. An even more significant issue is the role of the police. If the police had taken action in this matter in time, perhaps the honor of the victim would have been saved. But the police postponed the matter by saying that they would come within 24 hours. According to the information, the victim's husband had gone to another city for some work. It was afternoon. The victim had gone to the market with her mother-in-law to buy vegetables. At the same time, the driver of a minibus forcibly took her inside the bus. The victim's mother-in-law started calling people for help, but seeing the opportunity, he ran away with the bus. The mother-in-law informed her husband. The victim's husband reached Harmada police station in the evening. When he requested the policemen to save his wife, they threatened him and said that she herself had run away. She will be back by evening. If she does not arrive within 24 hours, only then will a report be filed in this matter. The disappointed husband himself started searching for his wife. According to the victim's husband, his wife was found at some distance from the house in an unconscious state at midnight. There were injury marks on her face and body. On going near her, it was found that the accused had raped her by forcefully making her drink alcohol. Elections are currently going on in Rajasthan. This is the reason that after getting information about this incident, workers of a political party reached the spot. He, along with the victim's family, started raising slogans against the police. Seeing the matter escalating, the police immediately registered a case and started searching for the accused. On the basis of mobile location, accused bus driver Rajendra was taken into custody. The accused is being interrogated regarding this matter. If we look at the data of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), women are most unsafe in Rajasthan. According to the data of the year 2020, the maximum number of rape cases were reported in Rajasthan. This year, 5,310 cases were registered here. The Nirbhaya incident in 2012 had shocked the entire country. In Vasant Vihar, a paramedical student was held hostage in a bus along with one of her friends. Six people, including the bus driver, conductor, and helper, first beat him severely. After that, the victim was gang-raped in front of her friend. Not only this, a minor accused had even inserted an iron rod into the private part of the victim. After that, the accused ran away after throwing her out of the bus in a naked state. This heinous incident shocked the entire country. After this incident, it took seven years to hang the culprits of Nirbhaya. On March 20, 2020, four convicts were hanged.
