JAIPUR: Karni Sena leader Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was tragically murdered at his Jaipur residence on December 5. This incident sparked widespread outrage and led to a 'Rajasthan bandh' called by Karni Sena supporters. The political landscape heated up in the aftermath of the recent Rajasthan assembly election, with the BJP suggesting that the Congress orchestrated the murder in retaliation for their electoral defeat. A video shared by BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala claimed that the police had warned Congress Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot about Gogamedi's security concerns before the fatal attack. The murder, captured on CCTV, showed three assailants on bikes firing shots at Gogamedi's house. During the confrontation, one of Gogamedi's security guards was injured. In the exchange of gunfire, one attacker was killed, initially reported as shot by Gogamedi's security before being finished off by his accomplices. Rajasthan Police identified the culprits as part of the Rohit Godara gang, connected to the Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi gangs. Gogamedi had previously criticized the Congress for ignoring Karni Sena, blaming the party for their electoral loss. His supporters have threatened a statewide shutdown if swift action is not taken in response to his killing. Leaders across the political spectrum, including Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot, and Rajyavardhan Rathore, condemned the killing. However, amidst the BJP's rise to power, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate labeled it a return to lawlessness ('jungle raj'). Despite the change in government, the BJP has yet to announce a new chief minister, and the Congress continues to hold the caretaker government in the state. Allegations have surfaced from Shehzad Poonawala regarding the Congress's purported plans to create false narratives and employ criminal elements to tarnish Rajasthan's image post-election. BREAKING!
