Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is set to enter Odisha on Tuesday. The yatra, led by Gandhi, will make its way into the state from Jharkhand through Biramitrapur, a small industrial town in Sundergarh district. Biramitrapur is buzzing with activity as banners, cut-outs, and hoardings of Gandhi adorn the streets. Local Congress leaders are gathered in Rourkela steel city, about 35 km away from Biramitrapur, where the excitement among the people to catch a glimpse of Rahul Gandhi, often referred to as 'former PM Indira Gandhi's grandson', is palpable, said Rashmi Padhee, the party's Sundergarh district president. Although the Biramitrapur assembly seat is currently held by the BJP, it has previously been won by Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidates. Gandhi is expected to arrive in Biramitrapur in the afternoon, where he will receive a grand welcome from the state Congress. The yatra will cover approximately 10 km before halting for the night in the Bija Bahal area. The following day, Gandhi will continue his yatra with a 3.4-km-long padayatra from Uditnagar to Panposh Chhak in Rourkela city. He is scheduled to address the public at Panposh Chhak and later take a lunch break at Bisra Munda Ground in Ranibandh. Following his schedule, Gandhi will proceed with his yatra from Ranibandh and address a rally in Rajgangpur. He will then embark on another padayatra in Sundergarh town and address another public meeting before retiring for the night at Amlipali Ground in Jharsuguda. On February 8, Gandhi will resume his yatra from the Old Bus Stand in Jharsuguda, addressing a rally later in the day. After lunch, he will continue his yatra from Kanaktora in Jharsuguda, heading towards Chhattisgarh. The Odisha leg of the yatra will cover approximately 200 km across the western districts of Sundergarh and Jharsuguda. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which commenced in Manipur on January 14, is set to conclude in Mumbai on March 20, traversing about 15 states.
