President inaugurates Constitution Park at Raj Bhavan, Jaipur

JAIPUR: India President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday, January 3,  inaugurated the Constitution Park at Raj Bhavan in Jaipur. 

After inaugurating the park by unveiling a plaque and cutting the ribbon, President took a round of the park and interacted with architect Anoop Bartaria, who was accompanied by Governor Kalraj Mishra, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Assembly Speaker CP Joshi, among others.

 The park, built by the Jaipur Development Authority costs Rs 9 crore.  It showcases the Constitution's journey from its making to its implementation through sculptures and pictures on panelled glass, among others.

Folk artistes, including prominent performer Gulabo Sapera, performed at the event. The president was received at the state hangar of Jaipur airport by Mishra and Gehlot earlier in the day. She will address a conference at Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidhyalaya at Abu Road, Sirohi, later in the day.

The president also visited the Peacock Pillar, Flag Post, Gandhi Statue and the statue of Maharana Pratap. She has also inaugurated and inspected the Constitution Park inside the governor’s house. She held an interaction with Kathori and Sahariya tribal groups. Of the 28 state universities, 18 have constructed constitution parks featuring the Preamble and important provisions of the Constitution.
