Panaji: While the police is taking various steps to ban drug smuggling in Goa, smugglers are also dodging the police. Goa Police raided on 4th June and seized a huge consignment of drugs. Goa Police have arrested a criminal with 10 kg of hemp. According to the news received, the police of Goa's Calangute police station had received news about the consignment of drugs. On the basis of the news received by the Calangute police station, raids were conducted in the Khobrovado Calangute Bardez area. Due to the action of this raid, the police team has seized the largest quantity of hemp. According to the police, around 10 kg of hemp was confiscated. It is being said that the estimated price of the seized hemp is around Rs 10 lakh in the market. With the hemp, the police arrested Vikas Rathod, son of Chandu Rathod. Goa Police is interrogating the arrested criminal and trying to find out to whom this consignment of narcotics was to be sent and from where it came. The police of Goa's Calangute police station have registered a case against the criminal arrested in this incident under the NDPS Act 1985. Police is busy investigating the case and interrogating the culprit. It is worth noting that these days the Goa Police has started a special campaign against drugs.
