Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several transformative development projects in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday, laying the groundwork for the grand Mahakumbh 2025. The initiatives focus on improving infrastructure, promoting spiritual tourism, and enhancing public amenities to accommodate millions of devotees. Boosting Connectivity and Infrastructure PM Modi launched multiple rail and road infrastructure projects, including 10 new Road Over Bridges (ROBs), flyovers, permanent ghats, and riverfront roads. These developments are designed to improve connectivity and manage the large influx of pilgrims expected during Mahakumbh. In alignment with the mission for a "Swachh and Nirmal Ganga," the Prime Minister also inaugurated projects to intercept, divert, and treat wastewater from drains flowing into the Ganga. These measures aim to ensure no untreated water enters the sacred river, preserving its sanctity and ecological balance. Enhancing Spiritual Tourism with Temple Corridors As part of efforts to promote spiritual tourism, PM Modi introduced several temple corridor projects, including the Bharadwaj Ashram Corridor, Shringverpur Dham Corridor, Akshayvat Corridor, and Hanuman Mandir Corridor. These initiatives are set to enhance accessibility for devotees and enrich their spiritual experience in Prayagraj. Additionally, the "Kumbh Sah'AI'yak" chatbot was launched to provide real-time updates and guidance for visitors during the Mahakumbh 2025. This innovative digital assistant is expected to play a key role in offering a seamless experience for attendees. Preparing for Mahakumbh 2025 The Mahakumbh, a historic religious event held every 12 years, will be observed from January 13 to February 26, 2025. Key bathing dates, such as Makar Sankranti on January 14, Mauni Amavasya on January 29, and Basant Panchami on February 3, are anticipated to draw millions of pilgrims. To ensure the safety of attendees, Uttar Pradesh Police will deploy Artificial Intelligence and advanced CCTV systems, enhancing crowd management and security during the event. Comprehensive Development for a Holistic Experience These projects represent a holistic approach to preparing for Mahakumbh 2025, combining spiritual, infrastructural, and technological advancements. By enhancing connectivity, promoting spiritual heritage, and ensuring environmental sustainability, the government aims to provide an enriching and hassle-free experience for all visitors.
