PM Modi to Launch Development Projects Worth Rs 7,600 Cr in Maharashtra Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch a series of development projects worth over Rs 7,600 crore in Maharashtra on Wednesday via video conferencing.

One of the key initiatives is the upgradation of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur, with a project cost of approximately Rs 7,000 crore. This upgrade is expected to boost sectors like manufacturing, aviation, tourism, logistics, and healthcare, significantly benefiting Nagpur and the surrounding Vidarbha region.

Additionally, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the New Integrated Terminal Building at Shirdi Airport, a project worth over Rs 645 crore. Designed to cater to the large number of religious tourists visiting Shirdi, the terminal's theme is inspired by the spiritual neem tree associated with Sai Baba.

The Prime Minister will also operationalize 10 new government medical colleges across Maharashtra. These institutions are located in Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, Amravati, Gadchiroli, Buldhana, Washim, Bhandara, Hingoli, and Ambernath (Thane). The colleges aim to increase the number of undergraduate and postgraduate seats while offering advanced healthcare services to the public.

Furthering his vision of making India the "Skill Capital of the World," PM Modi will inaugurate the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) in Mumbai. The institute, established under a Public-Private Partnership model in collaboration with the Tata Education and Development Trust, will offer cutting-edge training in fields such as mechatronics, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and robotics.

Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK), which will provide students, teachers, and administrators with access to academic and administrative data. Through tools like live chatbots, the VSK aims to improve resource management in schools, strengthen the relationship between parents and the state, and offer innovative teaching resources to enhance student learning.
