Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address two rallies in Jharkhand today, targeting voters ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. The rallies will take place in Chaibasa and Garhwa, marking an important moment in the campaign as the election date approaches. This visit follows the release of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto by Union Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday in Ranchi. Shah outlined several key promises, including the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Jharkhand and a commitment to expel infiltrators from Bangladesh. He stated that the party aims to restore lands occupied by these infiltrators to tribal communities. Additionally, the BJP's manifesto includes ambitious plans to provide 21 lakh families with concrete homes equipped with tap water connections. The party also intends to create 287,000 government jobs and offer 500,000 self-employment opportunities to tackle unemployment issues. For the youth, the BJP has proposed a stipend of Rs 2,000 for graduates who are finding it challenging to enter the job market, extending for two years. In education, the party promises free education for all girls from kindergarten to post-graduation. For the agricultural sector, the BJP plans to purchase paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal, ensuring that payments are made directly to farmers' bank accounts within 24 hours of procurement. Furthermore, the party aims to triple the irrigation area in Jharkhand by 2030 and include Arhar Dal and Mahua in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) program. The Jharkhand Assembly elections are scheduled to take place in two phases on November 13 and 20, with the counting of votes set for November 23. A total of 2.6 crore voters are eligible to participate, including 1.31 crore male voters, 1.29 crore female voters, 11.84 lakh first-time voters, and 66.84 lakh young voters. In the last Assembly election, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats, the BJP secured 25, and the Congress obtained 16 seats.
