Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali 2024 with Border Security Force (BSF) jawans in Kutch, Gujarat, upholding his tradition of honoring India's armed forces during the festival. On Thursday, October 31, he visited the BSF outpost near the Pakistan border, engaging with soldiers and exchanging Diwali greetings.
Since taking office in 2014, PM Modi has consistently celebrated Diwali with military personnel across different locations in the country. Each year, he visits military facilities to interact with troops and commemorate the festival.
This year’s celebrations coincided with the exchange of sweets between Indian and Chinese troops at several border points along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). This traditional gesture of goodwill followed the recent disengagement of troops at two friction points in eastern Ladakh, Demchok and Depsang Plains, marking a positive development in Sino-Indian relations.
During his Diwali visit to the Border Security Force (BSF) outpost in Kutch, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the time to inquire about the conditions faced by the soldiers. He asked about the changes they have experienced, the challenges they encounter, and whether any adjustments could be made to improve their working conditions.
PM Modi also closely inspected the creek area, spending around an hour there before heading to Bhuj.
Sir Creek, a 96-kilometer stretch along the India-Pakistan border, has been a point of contention for decades. The BSF's Crocodile Commandos maintain a vigilant watch over this area to protect against external threats.
Since taking office in 2014, Prime Minister Modi has made it a tradition to celebrate Diwali with Indian soldiers stationed at various border locations and posts.
