Petrol will not be available in the vehicle without PUC test

Now if you are going to fill petrol in your vehicle, then keep in mind that it is mandatory for you to have a valid PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate. The Delhi government has made strict rules regarding this, due to which heavy fines will be imposed on those driving vehicles without PUC certificate. If you go to fill petrol without PUC, then you may have to pay an e-challan of Rs 10 thousand.

How will the PUC test be conducted?

The Delhi government has used state-of-the-art technology at 100 petrol pumps to implement this new rule. Under this, cameras will be installed at petrol pumps which will scan the vehicle's number plate to detect whether the vehicle has a valid PUC certificate or not. A private company named Navgati Tech has been given the responsibility of implementing this scheme. This company will have to install its system within 15 days, so that the PUC testing process can be started. This entire project is being prepared at a cost of about Rs 6 crore.

What if there is no PUC?

If your vehicle arrives at the petrol pump without a valid PUC, then first you will be given a few hours' time so that you can get a PUC certificate for your vehicle. If you do not get a PUC certificate even within this time period, then an e-challan of Rs 10,000 will be automatically issued in your name. This challan will be sent to you on your mobile with information through SMS.

It will not be possible to avoid camera scanning

Many times people escape getting caught because they use their vehicle locally and do not get a PUC certificate. But now this will not be possible, because the cameras and software installed at petrol pumps will scan the vehicle's number plate and immediately get information whether the vehicle has a valid PUC or not. This will also keep a strict watch on those who have been avoiding this rule till now.

Strictness of transport department

This step of the Delhi government has been taken keeping in mind the reduction of air pollution and protection of the environment. The Transport Department official said that the aim of this scheme is to ensure that every vehicle runs on the roads with a valid PUC certificate. This step has been taken not only to control pollution but also to make people aware of their environmental responsibilities.

What will be the benefit of the new rule?

The biggest advantage of this rule will be that it will help in controlling air pollution. In metros like Delhi, air pollution has become a serious problem due to the smoke emitted from vehicles. With the implementation of this rule, there will be regular checking of vehicles, so that the vehicles spreading pollution can be identified immediately and they can be removed from the roads. Under this new rule, the Delhi government has made the PUC certificate mandatory. If you are going to fill petrol in your vehicle, first make sure that you have a valid PUC certificate. This will not only save you from a fine of Rs 10,000, but will also help in controlling air pollution. Now the time has come for all of us to understand our responsibility and contribute to the protection of the environment.
