OpenAI Appoints Aaron Ronnie Chatterji as Its First Chief Economist

OpenAI has announced the appointment of Aaron "Ronnie" Chatterji, a prominent professor at Duke University and former White House CHIPS coordinator, as its first Chief Economist. In this role, Chatterji will lead research focusing on the economic impact of artificial intelligence, emphasizing growth, job creation, and labor market trends to maximize AI's potential for long-term prosperity.

He is currently the Mark Burgess & Lisa Benson-Burgess Distinguished Professor of Business and Public Policy at Duke University.
