OnePlus has taken a significant step to address the green line issue that has affected its smartphones for years. The company has announced that it will provide a lifetime warranty on all its phone models to reassure its Indian customers. Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India, said, "Last year, we took a bold step by being the first smartphone brand to offer a lifetime warranty for our older models to support affected users… Building on that, we're excited to extend this warranty to every OnePlus phone, reinforcing our belief in the quality and reliability of our products. More importantly, as a community-driven brand, we hope these measures provide users with a worry-free experience throughout the lifespan of their OnePlus devices." Besides the warranty, OnePlus is making notable improvements to its display technology to address environmental factors that affect the AMOLED displays in its phones. The company is incorporating an Enhanced Edge Bonding Layer in all OnePlus AMOLED screens. This layer is designed to provide better protection, using what OnePlus calls 'superior PVX edge-sealing materials.' To simplify, PVX is a high-performance material that helps prolong the life of displays by slowing down moisture and oxygen penetration, especially in extreme weather conditions. In addition to the warranty and display improvements, OnePlus introduced Project Starlight in India. The company plans to invest Rs. 2,000 crore over the next three years in this project, aiming to improve product durability, enhance customer service, and create India-specific features for OnePlus smartphones. These efforts come just ahead of the launch of the OnePlus 13 series, set to debut in India and global markets next month. OnePlus seems determined to improve its reputation, especially after the past concerns related to the green line issue. December 2024 Launch: Five Exciting Smartphone Launches You Can't Miss!
