New Delhi: As the number of Omicron cases in the country rises, some states, including Delhi, have declared school closures. The Delhi government issued recommendations on Tuesday as part of a "yellow alert" to combat the spread of Covid's Omicron version in the city. In the morning of December 29, there were 781 cases of omicron in India, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With 238 omicron cases, Delhi has the highest number. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee instructed officials on Wednesday to assess the state's overall COVID-19 situation. During an administrative review meeting on Sagar Island, Ms Banerjee also stated that if the circumstances warrants, schools and institutions may be closed for a period of time. "Cases of COVID-19 are on the rise, and there are a few Omicron cases as well. So, take a look at the state's situation.
