Noida International Airport is starting to launch its operations, with passenger flights scheduled to commence on April 17, 2025. Before this official opening, commercial flight testing will take place, with Akasa and Indigo airlines expected to land on the airport's runway starting November 30. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is set to determine the number and destinations of domestic flights to Noida International Airport by mid-October. Meanwhile, Yamuna International Airport Pvt. Ltd. has sought approval from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for international flights. On Tuesday, a meeting chaired by Dr. Arunvir Singh, the Chief Executive Officer of Noida International Airport Ltd., focused on the necessary applications and approvals from central departments for the airport's operation. Officials from various departments, including the DGCA and Airports Authority of India, participated in the meeting. They established a timeline for licensing and approvals, as well as the start date for commercial services and flight trials. The airport has installed CAT 1 and CAT 3 equipment, which will enable aircraft to land and take off even in low visibility conditions. Calibration of the instrument landing system is scheduled for October 4-6, with certification expected from the central department by October 15. The developer company plans to submit an application for flight testing to the DGCA by November 15, aiming to receive trial permission by November 25. On November 30, aircraft from Akasa, Indigo, and the Airports Authority of India will make their inaugural landings at the new airport, marking the beginning of commercial flight trials. Various aircraft models, including Airbus 319, 320, and 321, will be tested during this phase. The operational status of the airport will hinge on the success of these trials with crew members. If the tests go well, an application for an airplane license will be submitted in December. The DGCA is expected to grant the license necessary for flight services within sixty days. On February 6, IATA will announce details regarding Noida International Airport's operations on an international scale. Ticket Booking Timeline Ticket sales for flights departing from Noida International Airport are anticipated to begin in January or February. For international services, ticket sales must commence at least three months prior to flight operations, while domestic flight bookings will start approximately one and a half to two months in advance. International and domestic flight services will launch simultaneously on the first day of airport operations. The developer company has already applied to IATA for international services, and while discussions have taken place, the exact destination for the first international flight has yet to be disclosed. However, it is expected that initial international routes may include destinations like Dubai and Singapore. The DGCA will meet by October 15 to finalize the number and destinations of domestic flight services, with more than sixty domestic flights planned for the initial phase.
