Noida: The body of a 40-year-old unidentified woman was recovered from her room in Sarfabad village under Thana Sector 49 area of Noida adjoining the national capital Delhi on Saturday morning. According to police, prima facie it appears that the woman was strangled to death. A spokesman for Police Commissioner Alok Singh said that on Saturday morning, police came to know that the room of the unidentified woman who had come to stay on rent in Renu's house in Sarfabad village was locked from outside and smelled bad from the room. He said that as soon as they came to know about the incident, the police who reached the spot opened the latch of the house in front of the people nearby and found the body of the woman lying in the room. He said marks were found on the woman's neck. On seeing them, it appears that she has been strangled to death. He said the body has been taken into custody and rushed for postmortem and the exact cause of death will be known only after the report is received. The woman had come to stay here with a male friend on July 30. The woman's friend is said to be absconding since the incident.
