Nitish Kumar, Bihar's Chief Minister, has announced the distribution of ministerial responsibilities among his cabinet members following a recent expansion. The move comes just a day after the cabinet's enlargement, with Kumar opting to retain control over the Home and General Administration departments. In a notable development, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has been entrusted with the Finance and Commercial portfolios. Meanwhile, another Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Sinha of the BJP, will oversee the Road Construction, Mines and Geology, as well as Art & Culture departments. The notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat department on Saturday formalized these assignments. Kumar's cabinet, which saw the induction of 21 new ministers on Friday, is now comprised of 30 members. This expansion brings the ministry's strength to within six of the constitutional limit of 36 for the state.
