New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry has notified new rules for anti-tobacco warnings on OTT platforms. The notification makes it mandatory for OTT platforms to display anti-tobacco warning messages in content. The Union Health Ministry and the Information and Broadcasting Ministry will take strict action if the online content publisher fails to comply with the new rules, it said. The Health Ministry has issued a notification on World No Tobacco Day. That is, from now on, it will be mandatory for all OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar and Sony Liv to show anti-tobacco warnings with content.
