Jammu : Shri Amarnath Yatra will conclude on Monday with special puja and holy stick. This year the yatra has set a new record. This is the fourth time in the last two decades that the number of devotees visiting Baba Barfani has exceeded five lakh. Today, on 19 August 2024, the yatra will conclude, along with Shri Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra. Journey of Chhari Mubarak On Sunday, the Chhari Mubarak reached the base camp Panjtarni from the 14,800-foot-high Mahaguns Top along with sadhus and saints led by Mahant Dipendra Giri. The holy Chhari left Sheshnag at 8:05 am. After a night's rest at Panjtarni, the Chhari Mubarak will reach the holy Amarnath cave on Monday, marking the end of the 52-day Amarnath Yatra. In the morning, traditional pujas and rituals will be performed with Vedic chanting at the holy cave on the occasion of Shravan Purnima. Travel numbers from previous years This year, 5.10 lakh devotees visited Baba Barfani. Earlier, 5.33 lakh devotees had visited the pilgrimage in 2008. The record of Amarnath Yatra was at its highest in 2012, when 6.35 lakh devotees visited the ice lingam. In 2011, 6.21 lakh devotees had visited the pilgrimage.
