Mizoram police fire on father and son duo in Tripura

Mizoram Police fired at a 40-year-old father and his teenage son from Tripura on Friday, injuring them.According to reports, Mizoram police opened fire on them when they crossed into the neighbouring state to cultivate jhum.

According to police, Ramuhai Reang and his 14-year-old son Rathindra, as well as other Kanchanpur subdivision inhabitants, frequently travelled to the neighbouring state to farm. However, on Friday afternoon, the Mizoram Police opened fire on the father-son combo "for reasons unknown," injuring both of them, according to a police official.

Ramuhai was able to escape and re-enter Tripura, but his son was arrested by Mizoram Police, according to the official. "We've learned that the youngster had surgery at an Aizawl hospital." He stated, "His condition is steady. Ramuhai, who is from the North Tripura district, was hospitalised to the district's Dharmanagar Hospital.

A case has been filed at the Vangmun police station, and an investigation is underway.
