Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent three-day visit to the United States, highlighting it as a testament to the PM's status as a distinguished global statesman and trendsetter of exceptional merit. In a statement following the visit, Chief Minister Shinde expressed his admiration for Modi's interactions with tech and business leaders, noting that these efforts to attract investments would significantly benefit Maharashtra. He also commended the Prime Minister for facilitating the return of nearly 300 antiquities during the trip. Taking to social media platform X, Shinde wrote, "PM Narendra Modi Ji's USA visit has shown once again why he is a global statesman and trendsetter par excellence. In a short visit, he has been able to cover many sectors, which will strengthen India's journey to progress. As Indians, we feel very proud to see our Prime Minister welcomed, especially by American President Biden at his personal residence and school." Shinde welcomed the engagement with prominent tech and business leaders, emphasizing Maharashtra's robust connections with many of them. "PM's efforts to draw investments will naturally benefit our state. I am particularly happy that PM Modi ensured the return of almost 300 antiquities from the USA. It is important for a leader to keep in touch with his cultural roots, and this is exactly what PM Modi is doing," he added. Following his successful visit, Prime Minister Modi departed from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, returning to India on Monday (local time). During his trip, the Prime Minister attended the QUAD Leaders' Summit, engaged with the Indian diaspora at the 'Modi and US' event, and addressed the 'Summit of the Future' at the United Nations General Assembly. He also held crucial bilateral meetings, including discussions with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Palestine's President Mahmoud Abbas. Describing his visit, PM Modi posted on X, "This has been a fruitful USA visit, covering diverse programmes and focusing on a series of subjects aimed at making our planet better."
