Madhya Pradesh: Thousands of quintal paddy wasted due to rain

Damoh: During the tenure of Kamal Nath government of Madhya Pradesh, the administrative mismanagement is not taking its name. This chaos has once again ruined thousands of sacks of paddy in Damoh district. Thousands of sacks kept in the open in the rain have deteriorated due to wetting. The collector says that instructions had already been issued to the officials in this regard. When the Collector came to know about this, he said to take action against the culprits.

The Meteorological Department had warned in the state that there may be rain in many districts. Damoh's name was also included in these districts. In-charge was also given to the in-charge of all the purchasing centers on the purchase of paddy across the district. In view of the possibility of rain, instructions were also given to make adequate arrangements to get the grains soaked. But these instructions had no effect on the officers. Thousands of sacks of paddy were kept in open at many purchasing centers in Damoh district, which got destroyed in the rain.

Paddy sacks were drenched under similar open skies at about 6 purchasing centers in Tendohkhera and Jabera blocks of Damoh and the responsible officials kept watching as mute spectators. At some purchasing centers, polythene was poured over piles of paddy bags for formality. But the rain water flowing down from the ground ruined the paddy.
