Madhya Pradesh: Liquor to be delivered at doorstep under new scheme

Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, not only household goods, but also liquor can also be ordered online. The state government is going to make arrangements that the delivery of liquor can be done at home by ordering online. This type of provision has been made in the new excise policy. Madhya Pradesh will be the first state to make this arrangement.

It was planned to start two years ago in Punjab, but it could not be implemented. The Excise Department of the state is coming up with a new excise policy for the next financial year. The biggest emphasis in this policy is to increase revenue. Several provisions have been made for this, including online liquor sales and increased license fees. After the approval of CM Shivraj on this policy, preparations are being made to implement it soon.

The policy also provides for punishment on commercials of liquor. If someone does alcohol, then 3 to 5 years sentence and 10 lakh fine should be taken. If excise and police are attacked during official proceedings, then Hamalwar should be imprisoned for 7 to 10 years. The policy provides that there will not be much difference between MSP (Minimum Selling Price) and Maximum Retail Price. The price of domestic and foreign liquor in Madhya Pradesh is higher by 59 percent to 81 percent respectively as compared to the neighboring states.
