60-year-old woman consumes posion, son accuses bank of harrasment

Bhopal: A 60-year-old woman fed up with her labour husband's debts in Chattarpur in Madhya Pradesh, ate poisonous substance. The son of the deceased accused the bank of harassing the people, saying that there was a persistent demand for money from the bank and the wages were not being paid due to the lockdown. Because of this, his father was not able to pay the money. Due to this stress and pressure, the mother ate poisonous substances.

The incident happened at Baragaon under Alipura police station area of the district. Janki Kushwaha, a 60-year-old woman, was under stress due to her husband Hardayal Kushwaha's bank loan. On September 16, Janaki ate poisonous substance, fed up with pressure from the bank. Janki was then admitted to the hospital. The woman died during treatment at Mission Hospital on Thursday.

The son of the deceased woman says that there was a loan of 80,000 rupees from Bank of Baroda and 25,000 from Co-operative Bank. They didn't have the money to pay for the debt, which made my mother take such a massive step.  Additional SP Sameer Saurabh has said that the case is under investigation, if the bank is found guilty, action will be taken.
