Sandeep Rajput/Narsinghpur: In the panchayat elections held last day, many voters could not exercise their franchise at polling station number 88 of Gram Panchayat Shahpur under Janpad Panchayat Babai Chichli in Narsinghpur district. In this regard, supporters and proposers of sarpanch candidate Malti Nilesh Lodhi held a press conference at Narsinghpur headquarters and demanded fair repoll, accusing the presiding officer of the polling station of depriving voters of their franchise. An application was also submitted to the District Electoral Officer Panchayat Narsinghpur for depriving voters of the right to vote after giving tokens to them in the Panchayat elections. The application demanded that around 140 people who were denied voting be re-voted. At the polling station, 140 people were refused to vote even after being given tokens by the presiding officer to cast their votes. There was a lot of debate between the voters and the presiding officer over this issue and there was a dispute between the two groups.
