Special vehicle services were provided to help survivors reach polling stations from their temporary shelters. The grief of the survivors was palpable, but their determination to vote stood strong as they remembered those who had cast their votes in the previous general election. Madhya Pradesh By-polls: In Madhya Pradesh, by-elections are taking place in two assembly constituencies—Budhni and Vijaypur. The voter turnout till 3 p.m. was recorded at 65.08% in Budhni and 67.01% in Vijaypur. Early reports indicated a 51.16% turnout in Budhni by 1 p.m., and 54.86% in Vijaypur. The highest turnout was 60.74% in Ramgarh, while Deoli-Uniara recorded 49.82%. Voting will continue until 6 p.m., and the counting is scheduled for November 23, 2024. Assam By-polls: Assam's five assembly seats saw a high voter turnout of 64% by 3 p.m. on Wednesday. The highest turnout was recorded in Bongaigaon at 66.94%. Despite minor incidents of violence in Samaguri and Behali, voting has continued peacefully, and no disruptions were reported at polling stations.
