The BJP, Congress, and Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) candidates are each leading in two seats. Meanwhile, an Independent candidate, Naresh Meena, is in second place in Deoli-Uniara, with Congress candidate Kastoori Chand Meena following in third.

Uttar Pradesh Bypolls: A Major Comeback for Yogi Adityanath and BJP

The bypolls in Uttar Pradesh represent a significant comeback for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after a setback in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In those elections, the BJP secured just 37 seats, while the INDIA alliance triumphed with 43 seats—37 of which were claimed by the Samajwadi Party (SP), and the Congress managed only 6.

Following the BJP's disappointing performance in the 2024 general elections, Adityanath concentrated his efforts on regaining the party's support in the nine assembly constituencies heading for bypolls.

Eight of these nine seats became vacant after their respective MLAs were elected to the Lok Sabha. The ninth, Sisamau, was vacated due to the disqualification of its MLA. Here's a closer look at the key constituencies involved in the bypolls:
