As the Modi government nears the completion of its 100-day agenda, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a sharp criticism, accusing the government of failing to meet its promises. With 95 days completed, Kharge outlined seven major concerns, focusing on issues such as the Union Budget, the ongoing crisis in Manipur, and the country’s infrastructure problems. Using his social media account, Kharge criticized the Union Budget, accusing the government of policies that harm vulnerable sections of society. He claimed that the budget has negatively impacted the poor and middle class, writing, "Your government brought an anti-people Budget to break the backbone of the poor and middle class." Manipur Conflict and Government's Inaction: Kharge also addressed the ongoing unrest in Manipur, where violence has persisted for months. He criticized the Prime Minister for not engaging with the crisis, stating, "It has been 16 months, Manipur is burning and Pradhan Mantri ji, you have no time to even look at the state." His remarks reflect growing frustration over the government’s perceived lack of action in resolving the conflict. Rising Terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir: In addition to the situation in Manipur, Kharge raised concerns about security, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. He pointed to a recent surge in terrorist activity in the Jammu region, noting, "Terrorist attacks took place in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in Jammu, where many bravehearts of the Indian Army were martyred." Allegations of Financial Misconduct: Kharge also criticized the government for its handling of regulatory matters, referring to allegations of financial irregularities. He brought up the "Modi-Adani Mega Scam," stating that the government's inaction regarding the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chairperson and the ongoing controversy cannot be ignored. Criticism Over NEET Paper Leak and Unemployment: Kharge accused the government of failing to protect the integrity of examinations and adequately address unemployment. "Whether it is the NEET paper leak scam or the stampede scenes proving massive unemployment, the Modi Govt has betrayed the youth every day," he said, expressing the widespread frustration felt by many young people. Infrastructure Failures Across the Country: In his speech, Kharge also highlighted several infrastructure failures, citing problems with airports, railways, and flood relief efforts. He criticized the government’s claims of successful projects, including the new Parliament building and the Lord Ram Temple, noting that many of these structures have faced issues. "Be it the statue of revered Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Maharashtra, the roof of the airports, the new Parliament or Lord Ram Temple in Ayodhya, expressways, bridges, roads, tunnels, whatever you have claimed to have built, they all had flaws," Kharge remarked.
